Top Strategies

Five strategies that tell you when to hold Bitcoin and when to hold cash. Each follows fixed rules built from Look Into Bitcoin metrics. You can see every rule, every trade since 2019, and how each strategy compares with simply buying and holding Bitcoin or dollar cost averaging.

The five strategies

How the backtests work

Each strategy is a fixed rules-based model account. Signals use the same chart data as the site. Trades execute two calendar days after a signal at that day's price, with 0.1% fees and 0.1% slippage. Lump sum starts with $10,000 on 1 January 2019; DCA adds $100 on the first of each month. Results update daily after the metric pipelines complete.

About Top Strategies

Top Strategies is a set of five rules-based Bitcoin strategies built by Look Into Bitcoin. Each one combines two or three of our onchain and macro metrics into fixed buy and sell rules, then runs those rules every day. The strategies are not predictions or recommendations. They are a transparent way to see what a disciplined, data-driven approach to Bitcoin would have done, and what it is doing now.

Every strategy is backtested from 1 January 2019 in two ways: a single $10,000 investment, and $100 a month. Both are measured against the simplest alternative, which is buying and holding Bitcoin for the lump sum, or dollar cost averaging for the monthly saver. Trades fill two days after a signal, with fees and slippage included, and there is no leverage or shorting.

We show the full history because a headline return means little on its own. Each strategy's maximum drawdown, its year by year results, and whether it beat holding from seven different start years are all on the page, and Pro members can download every trade.

The rules were locked on 22 September 2026 and do not change. The strategies you see, and the plan each belongs to, are fixed. If a rule ever has to be corrected, the change is dated and shown on the strategy detail card.

Nothing on this page is financial advice. Backtested results are hypothetical, exclude tax, and past performance does not guarantee future results.
